1963 Grand Prix 389 Tri-Power
In 1963 the Grand Prix was contoured with new styling that included a new Pontiac-trademark split grille with vertical headlights, round parking lights and "hidden" taillights out back. During 63 the exterior received "Grand Prix" lettering, a newly designed roof with sculptured C pillars that house a concave rear window as well as moldings for the rocker panels and wheel openings. Inside, the GP continued with luxurious interiors featuring bucket seats upholstered in Morrokide Vinyl that were separated by a console that was now built into the instrument panel containing a vacuum gauge (with Hydra-matic), real walnut trim on the instrument panel and custom pedal trim plates. This particular car is loaded with factory options which includes power steering, power brakes, A/C (not working), 8-lug aluminum wheels with integrated brake drums, the Safe-T-Track differential and a tilt steering. This is a PHS certified car that has its original 389 V8. It was originally a 4 barrel car that has been correctly converted to a Tri-Power set up. The original 3 speed Hydra-matic (Slim Jim) transmission was replaced with a 200R4 transmission with overdrive that bolted right in with the aid of an adapter plate. The original AM radio was replaced with a Custom Autosound USA630 that has Eclipse 5 ¼” speakers up front and Eclipse 6X9 speakers in the rear package tray. The original intake, carb, transmission and stereo will all be included with your purchase. The exterior has been professionally repainted in its original color of Nocturne Blue Metallic and it has a new Dark Blue Metallic interior which is also correct. After closely viewing all of the pictures you will see that this beauty is in need of nothing but a driver. In fact, I wouldn’t hesitate to drive this car across the country as it is that reliable. The current owner has spent over $20,000 restoring this car which didn’t include the purchase of the car. We have priced this one for a quick turn around so don’t wait to call as it might be too late!
